Belstaff made a debut that set standards: He won a series of tests for young riding horses with final scores up to 8.7, e.g. at the International Dressurfestival in Lingen CDI and the International Fest der Dressur in Cappeln.

He took the Vice-Champion title in the Hanoverian Stallion Championships and was nominated for the Bundeschampionat. He confirmed his extraordinary riding quality at his 70-day test in Schlieckau which he finished with a total score of 127.00, becoming the 2nd Reserve Champion. In the partial index for dressage, he received a score of 143.64. His first foals are expected in 2011 – and we can hardly wait to see them!

Belstaff is sired by the now deceased Brentano II, (Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2007). This coveted bloodline produced a significant number of very successfull dressage horses, including the World Cup winner, WC Team Silver and Olympic Team Bronze Medal winner, Brentina, ridden by Debbie McDonald of the USA.

His dam, Deseada SL, also gave birth to a full brother of Belstaff named Baroque who is also successfully ridden in tests for young horses by Johannes Westendarp. The dam's sire, De Niro, one of the main heirs of the Donnerhall line, has won dressage classes all the way to Nations Cups and even the Hamburg Derby. His offspring have won more than 600,000 Euros in prizes. More than 60 of his sons have been licensed, including the Derby winner, Desperados, ridden by Falk Rosenbauer. A State Premium has been awarded to more than 120 of his daughters, including the Oldenburg Champion Mare, Edina. De Niro is also the dam's sire of the Champion Stallion and price record holder, Hotline, and the current Oldenburg Champion Mare, Fifty-Fifty.

The granddam, Wylie AS, also competed in sport. She is the dam of St.Pr.St. Baghira SL (by Brentano II) and Verb.Pr.St. Delilah SL (by De Niro). With Weltmeyer in the third and Feiner Stern in the fourth generation, the pedigree is well composed.

The great granddam, Feine Dame, produced a licensed stallion named Whisper (by Weltmeyer; known in sport as Weltstar), who became a Bundeschampion of four-year old stallions in 2000 under Susanne Miesner. He was successfully ridden later by Hans Peter Minderhoud/NED, e.g. in Zwolle/NED, and is meanwhile in Australia where he wins St. Georges.
