Cantoblanco unites movement quality, rideability and jumping ability at the highest level and also passes on excellent traits. When he made his debut at shows, this Holstein Champion Stallion 2008 placed in tests for young riding horses and show jumpers up front with the best. He took his performance test in Schlieckau, finishing with a total index of 121.76 which was made up of 114.88 in the dressage index and 123.71 in jumping, ranking sixth overall. He was awarded the I-b premium in Oldenburg for the outstanding quality of his first crop.
Cantoblanco is from the first crop of the Holstein Champion Stallion, Canto, who took the Reserve Champion title at his stallion performance test and successfully participated in the Bundeschampionat. Canto is by Canturo who was ridden by the Brazilian rider, Bernardo Alves, in the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. The couple also placed tenth in the 2006 WC in Aachen and second in the Grand Prix of Hamburg.
Cantoblanco is from line 4965, one of the strongest performing mare lines in Holstein. His dam, G-Casablanca, is also the dam of Sclintura (by Cantus) who placed in the European Youngster Cup under his Slovakian rider, Monika Noskovicova. G-Casablanca is a full sister of the licensed stallions Clinton I and II, both ridden by Thomas Voss, an internationally placed sport horse named Clinton and a mare named Hirtin, who collected international ribbons in sport under the name of Chica Bay before she became the dam of Levisto Z who placed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Wiesbaden, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Leipzig (ridden by Judy-Ann Melchior of Belgium).
The dam's sire, Carolus I, goes back to the exceptional sire Capitol I, also found in Con Air's pedigree as the dam's sire. Capitol's offspring have won more than 1.3 million Euros on show jumping courses.
Line 4965 is also known for the licensed stallions Callucio, Catox, Cliostro, Colmander, Compact, Completto, For Complete, Lord Caletto GZ, Poor Boy (ridden by Beat Mändli of Switzerland) and Zandor Z (ridden by Jos Lansink of Belgium), as well as the internationally successful show jumpers Daesy, (ridden by Hauke Luther), Padua (ridden by Ralf Schneider), Sonora (ridden by Jan Tops of Holland), and Zodiac (ridden by Holger Hetzel).
