Castino's absolutely first-rate performance at his licensing test put him in the limelight from a very early age: "A magnificent stallion with an impressive athletic build, perfect conformation, expressive face and a modern habitus." His superb scores in the 70-day stallion test delivered further confirmation of this positive appraisal. Castino was the top-scoring stallion in his jumping index with 133.44 points and he also achieved the fourth-highest overall index of 124.70 points behind Fürstenball and Bentley. Castino has incredible scope and an excellent technique over jumps. He's also a modern and expressive type stallion with a fantastic breeding and sports career ahead of him.
Castino's sire, Cassini II, is increasingly emerging from his older brother's shadow. 23 of his progeny are already approved stallions and his offspring have accumulated total lifetime earnings of over EUR 200,000. Cassini II unites the performance genes of five-times total lifetime earnings millionaire, Capitol I, with those of Caletto II, sire to Olympic gold medal winner, Classic Touch. Maternal grandsire, Caretino, is another producer of uncompromisingly high quality international competition horses and his offspring's collective lifetime earnings are already more than EUR 3.31 million. Castino's dam, O-Caretina, received a perfect 10.0 for jumping in her mare performance test, full brother Carino qualified for the 2008 World Cup final, his full sister was the "Best in Holstein" mare in her field test in 2009 and another full brother, Canzero, is already an approved stallion with an excellent competition record in novice horse jumping classes. Castino's dam line 5951 has also produced the excellent show jumping sires, Moltke, Quadrigo and many other successful competition horses. His first foals have arrived and all have inherited their sire's modern type. Castino has the potential to get to the top.
