If you want progress in your breeding endeavors, you should only cross the best with the best. Chekandino is a perfect example of this concept. An inbreeding component over the famous Holstein line 2472 through Chekandino's great granddam Gofine by Ramiro, who is also Contender's dam, makes this stallion a real gem just because of his pedigree. Many highlights in sport and breeding (Reserve Champion Stallion Cornetto, Denmark; Cassandro, Italy; Fine Kiss, France; Caliskan, USA) emphasize the significance of this dam line which has been perfectly rounded off through Quidam de Revel, Lord and Ramiro. This gene pool has always fit well in Klein Roscharden: Not only Contender but also Contango (who was awarded the special "Keur" status in the Netherlands) stood at Zuchthof Klatte and were winners when it comes to performance. Chekandino did an excellent job at his 30-day test and the 8.75 that he received for his ability to jump was confirmed at the very first show he entered: Right off the bat he won a novice (A) level test for young show jumpers! His first foals show that Chekandino also passes on his good type and his certain aura – many of the foals from his first crop all over Germany were awarded premiums.
