Depardieu's career started in 2000 when the elegant black stallion was Reserve Champion at the approvals in Oldenburg. In Vechta at the 30 day test in 2001, he received high points in both dressage 8.36 and in jumping 8.15. In 2002, he was champion stallion at the approvals in Denmark.

Then one win after another: triple champion at the Oldenburg state championship 3 years running 2002, 2003 and 2004, he won the qualifications to the German State Championship for the 5 and 6 year olds with 8.6 and 8.2, respectively. In 2005, he won and was placed in Prix St George and won the qualification to the prestigious Nuernberger Burg Pokal (German Championships for 7-9 year old horses). Depardieu was double National Champion in Hannover with his rider, Nicole Kochskämper, in 2006 and 2007.

Depardieu and Norbert van Laak enjoyed many successes up to Grand Prix and, by the end of 2008, he had 8 wins and over 30 placings. With a winning sum of almost 10,000 Euros, the black stallion belongs to the nationwide group of top dressage horses.

As if his sporting achievements are not enough, he is also a sire to be reckoned with. He has a total breeding index of 141. His descendants in Hannover and Oldenburg have already won 28,189 Euros. To date, he has 3 approved sons and 100 registered daughters including the impressive mare Dubarry (Depardieu – Regina v. Rodgau) from Hessian breeding (Franz-Wilhelm Löer, Warburg). Depardieu has produced multiple horses achieving auction highlights in Vechta and Medingen.

Depardieu is yet another impressive representative of the rock-solid valuable D-blood with his grandsire, Donnerhall. As well, the Hanoverian Luciano (St. Luke II) is worthy to be mentioned in his pedigree. Depardieu's sire, De Niro, is very well-proven in breeding and sport. De Niro was Stallion of the Year in Hannover in 2008 and has been one of the most influential sons of Donnerhall. De Niro is already in the history books with: 41 approved sons, 47,624 Euros winnings, 1264 offspring in sport with a winning amount of 443,105 Euros in Germany alone.

Depardieu will be soon following in his father’s hoof prints with rider, Emma Hindle, and it will not be long until he is making headlines in the dressage sport.

Depardieu is now one of our highly recommended stallions.
