His sire is the famous Rheinland stallion, Florestan I, who was champion of his licensing in 1988. He subsequently was champion at his Stallion Performance Test in 1989 in Warendorf. Florestan I has produced famous stallions such as Fidermark, Florencio, Faveur, Fleurop, and Furst Heinrich. Florestan I was in top position in the FN breeding values for a number of years and is famous for producing performance horses with very high ridebility. In 2004, two Florestan I sons won both the 5 and 6-year-old World Young Horse Dressage Championships in Verden.

Freestyle's mother, Paloma, and her 4 full sisters (Palmanova, Patrizia, Primera, and Primavera) were awarded "Best Family in Hessen" for 4 years in a row. Paloma has produced two approved stallions Freestyle and Flammengold, full brothers, and she received an 8.1 for her mare-test. Sister Patrizia was 1997 Best Mare of Hessen and is the granddam to the approved stallion, Dragon Hill, standing at Paul Schockemohle's. Sister, Primera, was the best 3-year-old mare of Hessen in 1999 and also received a score of 8.50 for her mare-test. The youngest sister, Primavera, was 2nd at the mare show for 2 year olds at Asfeld. Great-grandmother, Geisha, is a full sister of the dam of the world famous stallion Romadour II who sired the Olympic Gold Medallist Rembrandt ridden by Nicole Uphoff. The dam-line of Freestyle shows 4 State Premium mares in a row with Paloma, Piroschka, Roxi and Geisha.

Freestyle has 2 approved sons, Farscape, who placed 2nd overall at the North American Stallion Performance Test and is fully approved with the Westfalen Verband, RPSI, and others, and Fabian who was winner of the North American Stallion Performance Test in 2013 who scored exceptional marks in rideability.
