Our Broodmares
We carefully select our beautiful, well-bred broodmares for their quality of movement, conformation, athleticism, and the very important temperament traits of rideability, willingness, kindness, and gentleness. Often, our broodmares have show performance results. To be in our breeding program, each broodmares must prove their ability to produce very high quality, athletic offspring who conform to the breed ideals.

Custom Foal Program
We offer these exceptional mares for our custom foal to a stallion of your choice by Embryo Transfer only. We offer a very reasonable price for the mare and you pay for the breeding to the stallion of your choice and all vet fees. If the client prefers, we can supply the ET surrogate mare. Embryos can be shipped fresh-chilled or frozen, your choice. Breeding must be contracted by April 15th.

Reference Stallions
At Mariposa Sport Horses, we spend considerable time and effort researching the stallions that we choose to breed our mares to, especially since we do not breed for quantity of foals, but rather for quality. The stallion must have proven himself to be a top competitor, first having successfully completing his performance test with excellent scores for all components. We carefully select the stallion for his quality of movement, correct conformation, athleticism, show performance results and pedigree, as well as the very important mental qualities of superb temperament, willingness to work, kindness, and gentleness. After all of that, the stallion must have the ability to produce offspring who are an improvement to the breed.
Below are the reference stallions we have bred a mare to in the past, or are hoping to use in the future. Please note, we do not own these stallions or their photographs. Please click on their name to bring up their page.
We use Hoffman's Minerals for all of our broodmares with great results evident in their luxurious coats, excellent health, skin, and strong bones and hooves. The mares give birth to strong, healthy foals with excellent skeletal development and few problems with their joints while growing.
