September 5, 2013 - Wailea and Rosaleigha attended the Hanoverian Verband Mare and Foal Show at Spruce Meadows. We had them both well-groomed and prettied up, and came by the stall to put on their halters to take to the ring to catch filly in the act of chewing her mother's tail, which was now all frizzy up at the top. Silly filly! No amount of brushing, fussing, or water could tame the mess, but in spite of the frizzy tail, Wailea was inspected, showed very well, and was approved Main Mare Book with the Hanoverian Verband receiving very good comments from the judges. Meanwhile, Rosaleigha was presented in the Foal Show and was awarded Best Dressage Foal. Dr Christmann of the Hanoverian Verband and Dr Brockmann of the Celle State Stud had very favourable comments regarding her lovely modern conformation and light-footed movement. Both highly recommended Rosie be prepared as a dressage and broodmare prospect. It was an amazing day!
August 16, 2013 - Wailea is confirmed 45 days in foal to Freestyle. Ultrasound showed a healthy fetus with a vigorous heartbeat. Foal is expected in May 2014.
July 2013 - With sad heart, we announce the passing of Granada, our beautiful Hanoverian mare. Granada was fully approved by the Hanoverian Verband, as well as with the Canadian Warmblood. Granada was the product of an exceptional breeding program of Lakeview Hanoverians out of an exceptional Hanoverian Pille 1188813 damline, a lineage that has produced a many breeding stallion, state premium mares and active broodmares. Granada was the last foal produced by this breeder and upon their retirement, she came to live with us in her mid teens. We were so pleased to breed her to Regazzoni from which she produced a lovely bay filly, Ryanna. Granada was Matriarch and Queen of our herd. She will be profoundly missed.
June 15, 2013 - Nicole had a beautiful buttermilk buckskin filly at 4 a.m. on June 14. She is very small, and very sweet. She stood up and nursed. However, as the night progressed it became evident that the filly was not doing well. She became blue (hypoxic) and could not maintain a normal temperature. As she deteriorated, she was unable to get get up even with help. Even with blankets, hot water bottles, and intensive vet care, she became progressively shocky and passed away at 3 a.m. on June 15. We are heartbroken and Nicole is grieving her loss.

March 2008 - We are saddened by the sudden loss of our spectacular chestnut thoroughbred mare, Come Spring, ("Spring"), who died suddenly and unexpectedly during turnout. Come Spring was a very tall, 17.1 hand mare, who elicited extremely positive comments from the warmblood judges who appreciated her powerful movement, correctness of gaits, and impressive presence. She was a sweetheart mare who loved attention and always came thundering across the pasture when her name was called. Spring had been booked to be bred to Briar 899, but it was not meant to be. Our darling mare will be forever missed.

January 6, 2007 - It was a very difficult decision, but we decided it was time to put down our elderly Arabian gelding who had been part of our family for 25 years. Deodars Hado was 34 years old and had few teeth left, yet he still loved to run and kick up his heels on turnout. He was a dream horse that every kid should be privileged to have - willing, kind, smart, patient, loyal, forgiving, versatile - he performed his best in dressage winning many, many, many titles, pony club sports and games, jumping, even some cross-country and endurance! He was never lame or sick a day in his life. He was my delight and dearest friend. Godspeed, my friend, towards your well-earned reward!
Deodars Hado April 7, 1972 - January 6, 2007
September 4, 2006 - We are very stunned and grieved to have lost our gorgeous 8-year-old Thoroughbred stallion, Next Star (Walter Willy-Grey Dawn-Sword Dancer), during colic surgery.
