January 13, 2013 - We are very pleased to announce the addition of a new broodmare - Rhythmic is a gorgeous Rohdiamant and double Inschallah mare. Rohdiamant was considered to be one of Rubinstein's best sons and pairing Inschallah blood with Rubinstein proved to be a spectacular cross. Rohdiamant's daughters were found to be of exceptional quality and in high demand. Furthermore, Rhythmic carries the very important blood of Freedom Z providing a necessary dose of jumping blood required of every dressage horse. If that were not enough, she carries an additional dose of Inschallah blood through her damline, making her a very special carrier of this precious bloodline. The mares in Rhythmic's mareline are States Premium mares for 3 generations and Rhythmic, herself, has stayed true to her spectacular damline by producing premium foals while in Canada. She stepped off the trailer in fine form and has quickly settled into the new routine and made friends.
October 7, 2012 - Busy, busy, busy! Tons of activity around the farm! We are installing a new winter paddock in time for winter. Additionally, we are installing a new line of fencing at the back of the farm. Last but not least, we are renovating our barn! We have removed all the old stalls. A new floor with nonslip epoxy is being applied and brand new permanent large foaling boxes are being installed. Subsequently, new lighting and new windows will be installed.
April 6, 2012 - We are pleased to announce the addition of Nidoeschka's daughter to our broodmare band! Wailea (aka "Lexi") is a very pretty 16.1 hand chestnut mare, sired by Dressage and Hunter producing stallion, Westporte (Wolkentanz I - Fabriano - Egerlaender). She will be bred to Rascalino for a 2013 foal.
August 2011 - We have acquired a new Hanoverian mare. White Heather (White Star - Allround - Steuben) is a lovely, very tall, sweet-natured mare. She will be presented to the Hanoverian Verband for studbook approval once she has been confirmed in foal.
June 4, 2011 - A colt is born. Nidoeschka gave birth to a lovely, long-legged black colt, sired by Freestyle. "Freestar" was a very large colt at birth, vigorous and bright at first, but with his attempts to stand it became clear that he was unable to breathe normally and could not nurse, and our veterinarian performed humane euthanization.
May 2011 - 2011 continues to be a year of growth for Mariposa Sport Horses. We are implementing an embryo transfer program, and for this purpose, we are obtaining young warmblood mares who are young and have an easy-going nature, good temperament and no vices.
March 6, 2011 - We have obtained another broodmare! Nicole is an imported Swedish Warmblood mare, approved ASVH (Sweden) and also SWANA and RPSI. "Becky" will arrive on April 3. It is planned Becky will be an Embryo Transfer Donor mare.
May 2010 - We are sad to see Lexus D'Avalon go! Lexus is a Dutch WB mare, schooled and shown to Prix St. George Dressage. Lexus will now be a schoolmaster for her owner in Penticton, BC.
In the March 2010 issue of Saddle Up Magazine, the lovely CWHBA MMB Hanoverian mare, Granada, was featured along with a picture of her delightful filly (sired by Regazzoni, born 2007).

January 10, 2010 - We are very excited to add Nidoeschka to our broodmare band. Nikki is an imported Dutch (KWPN) warmblood chestnut mare with an amazing temperament and friendly personality. She is breeding-approved with the KWPN-NA, MMB Oldenburg NA and MMB CWHBA. Her pedigree is both jumping and dressage which offers us very interesting choices for breeding.
September 9, 2009 - We are very saddened by the loss of our gelding, Widush, to a sudden illness. Widush was sired by Widukind out of a proven show-jumping thoroughbred mare. Widush was equally talented in both show jumping and dressage. Rest in peace, handsome.

September 15, 2008 - We moved! Our new farm is 60 acres of space located near the small community of Gleichen, Alberta. No doubt, our next few years will be spent re-organizing the farm to get things the way we like, but it is a challenge we really look forward to!
June 2008 - We have a confirmed pregnancy of Lexus to the lovely young stallion, Royal T (Royal Senna - Figaro - Westminster). We are really looking forward to this foal.
April 2008 - We welcome Lexus D'Avalon, the lovely dressage-bred Dutch WB mare to our broodmare band. We are very fortunate to lease this mare for a breeding term. Lexus has been schooled to Prix St. George and has tremendous rideability, along with her friendly and kind personality.
March 2008 - We are saddened by the sudden loss of our spectacular chestnut thoroughbred mare, Come Spring, ("Spring"), who died suddenly and unexpectedly during turnout. Come Spring was a very tall, 17.1 hand mare, who elicited extremely positive comments from the warmblood judges who appreciated her powerful movement, correctness of gaits, and impressive presence. She was a sweetheart mare who loved attention and always came thundering across the pasture when her name was called. Spring had been booked to be bred to Briar 899, but it was not meant to be. Our darling mare will be forever missed.

June 1, 2007 - A filly is born! Granada has given birth to a very nice bay filly, sired by Elite Stallion, Regazzoni. A very nice filly indeed! It was a very easy delivery for Granada and the new mom and babe are doing well.

January 6, 2007 - It was a very difficult decision, but we decided it was time to put down our elderly Arabian gelding who had been part of our family for 25 years. Deodars Hado was 34 years old and had few teeth left, yet he still loved to run and kick up his heels on turnout. He was a dream horse that every kid should be privileged to have - willing, kind, smart, patient, loyal, forgiving, versatile - he performed his best in dressage winning many, many, many titles, pony club sports and games, jumping, even some cross-country and endurance! He was never lame or sick a day in his life. He was my delight and dearest friend. Godspeed towards your well-earned reward!

September 4, 2006 - We are very grieved to have lost our gorgeous 8-year-old Thoroughbred stallion, Next Star (Walter Willy-Grey Dawn-Sword Dancer), to colic and was euthanized during surgery. We only owned "Nex" for a month before this happened, and we are stunned and grief-struck. He was a baby-doll who stole our hearts and affections. We will forever miss you and your affectionate nuzzling. Go peacefully over the Rainbow Bridge, my friend.

August 2006 - Granada is confirmed in foal to Regazzoni, for a June 2007 baby.
July 30, 2006 - Come Spring is confirmed in foal to Royal Senna! She is due in June 2007.
March 2006 - We have 2 confirmed contracted breedings this year for foals to be born in 2007:
~ Granada will be bred to the Elite Stallion, Regazzoni (Rubinstein - Werther). His impressive resume involves competitive wins to Grand Prix around Europe and North America as well as many other titles, too numerous to name here.
~ Come Spring will be bred to the stallion, Royal Senna (Rubinstein-Airport).
January 2006 - We welcome the very impressive chestnut thoroughbred mare, Come Spring to our broodmare band. Spring was imported from Argentina. She raced in North America and stood in the winner's circle. Her damline contains a number of stallions found in the pedigrees of approved sport stallions standing in Germany, Holland and Switzerland. We can hardly wait to breed her!
