Reference Stallions

At Mariposa Sport Horses, we spend considerable time and effort researching the stallions who are bred to our mares. The stallions must have proven himself to be a top competitor, first having successfully completing his performance test in the top five for all components. We carefully select the stallion for his quality of movement, correct conformation, athleticism, show performance results and pedigree, as well as the all very important mental qualities of superb temperament, willingness to work, kindness, gentleness. After all of that, the stallion must have the ability to produce offspring who are an improvement to the breed.

A most promising stallion by the World Champion in dressage, Sandro Hit, who is one of the most popular sires in the world because of his outstanding offspring. Sandro Hit's daughter, Poetin, sold for 2.5 million Euro at the PSI auction, is a fine example of his quality of offspring.

Sagnol is a talented young dressage sire of calibre with three perfect gaits. He comes from the famous Holstein mare line 776, the legendary Ramiro line that never ceases to produce great highlights such as the sires Acorado, Calvados, Cortino, Lordanos or Rouletto. What more can be said about his famous dam's sire, Landadel? Even after his death, his sons and daughters continue to leave a permanent mark on Oldenburg sport horse breeding. The Holstein sires, Fantast and Colt in particular, ensure a willingness to perform and the Thoroughbred stallions, Frivol xx, Cottage Son xx and Anblick xx add refinement and toughness to his pedigree.

Sagnol produces lovely conformationally correct foals with pretty heads, lovely, correct gaits, as well as a good mind and interior qualities.

Comments on his gaits specifically make mention of elasticity and power. The grand gentleman, Weltmeyer, still offers excellent semen and is very prepotent to improve neck, shoulder and legs and has been calculated a 99% heritability in type. As well, he strongly influences his offspring with good character, temperament and his lovely movement in which he clearly stamps his offspring with powerful hock action that moves cleanly forward and under the centre of gravity.
