Verdi is a son of the world famous sires: Quidam de Revel, Landgraf I, Calypso I and Rigoletto. His sire, Quidam de Revel, is a legend on his own. He has an impressive sport performance record having participated in the Olympic Games. He is also the sire of many international jumpers and approved stallions around the world. Grandsire, Landgraf I, is famous for producing a long list of international jumpers and approved stallions.

Verdi descends from the famous Holsteiner damline 474-a, which a stamm which has produced the approved stallions Calato, Colombo, Carlino, Loxgraf Go, Montreal, Aldato, Nimrod, Cavalier and Cicero, as well as the international jumpers Brillante, Spiga, Dehlia, Kira, Deka, Ishan and Edminton. Verdi’s dam, Clarissa, is full sister to the dam of the Holsteiner stallion of the year, Calato.

Verdi has beautiful conformation with long lines and good movement in his walk, trot and canter. Also important is his very nice and easy character. Verdi is a tall stallion with a size of 172 cm. He jumps with a lot of scope, showing good technique at the jump. Verdi has everything to become the jumper sire of the future, both because of his type and because of his jumping ability. At his performance test at Ermelo in 2005, Verdi was described as a stallion with a lot of scope and having a lot of potential as a jumper. Verdi’s jumping capacity was assessed with a score of 9 or higher in all the KWPN Stallion Competitions and he was the overall winner of his year with his rider, Maykel van der Vleuten in 2006-2007.

His first foal crop are big, long-lined foals with a lot of presence, a very good trot and a noticeably exceptional canter. Does not carry the chestnut colour gene.
