"The Red Baron" is, according to the FN breeding evaluation, one of the top stallions of German dressage horse breeding, just like his sire, Weltmeyer. He is currently registered with the same dressage index of 147, with Weltmeyer himself at 148.

He was short-listed for the British team at the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000 with Emma Hindle. At the European Dressage Championships in Hickstead 2003, Wie Weltmeyer and Emma Hindle had a considerable share in the British team winning the Bronze medal and were 8th individual. In 2004, both took part in the Olympic Games in Athens.

Through numerous successes in dressage, Wie Weltmeyer has so far achieved winnings of 40,190 euros. At the same time, he has also established himself as a great sire. In this way, his descendants have been successful right up to the Grand Prix. The British rider, Fiona Bigwood, and her Hanovarian gelding, Wie Atlantico, claimed many victories and placing internationally and Silver with the British team at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky and were placed 12th individually.
