Mariposa Sport Horses is a small family-run farm, located in Gleichen, Alberta, conveniently within 1 hour of the Calgary International Airport and Spruce Meadows. Visitors are always welcome, please contact us for an appointment.

MSH does not mass-produce foals. Rather, we choose to breed 2 or 3 quality warmblood foals. Each foal is professionally and calmly handled and by the time they are weaned, each foal is pleasant, confident, and enjoy being groomed, and stand for trimming by the farrier. We strive to produce foals which conform to the strict standards set out by the breed registries we work with - the Hanoverian Verband, KWPN-NA, SWANA and Canadian Warmblood - that is, foals who have correct conformation and gaits, good temperaments, and good rideability and athletic abilities suitable to the sport for which they have been purposely bred. We offer an Embryo Transfer and Custom Foal Program so that clients may choose a mare and pair her to a stallion of their choice in order to obtain the foal of their dreams and their next rising star.

Our breeding program includes mares we have carefully chosen for their exceptional pedigree, temperaments, conformation, and athletic abilities. All have exceptional mare inspection scores and, ultimately, the ability to pass on superior traits to their outstanding foals.
