Brassy is a special mare who competed in eventing up to training level (1.0m) and show jumping up to 1.2m successfully. In all sports, she consistently proved herself obedient under saddle and successful in all 3 disciplines. She has a good disposition, and 3 good, elastic, correct gaits. She retired from competition completely sound, and was subsequently inspected and approved with the Hanoverian Verband where she was awarded very good scores of 7s and 8s, and placed in their Main Mare Studbook.
SIRE: Arkansas successfully absolved his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1981 and stood at Celle before being imported to Canada. Arkansas was a member of the Hanoverian State Stud Prussian Quadrille, a prestigious black and white quadrille which performed all over Europe and also in Canada at Spruce Meadows. Both in Germany and Canada he was a very consistent, stamping sire, passing along his very good, strong topline, superb disposition, very good gaits, and jumping ability. Arkansas sired offspring successful in dressage, evening and also in show jumping up to the Grand Prix level. He sired 1 approved stallion son and many of his daughters are proving to excel as broodmares producing high quality, and athletically successful offspring. His most notable daughter, SPS Athene, was very successful at shows including the Louis Wiegels Show. She produced Erik, who was Federal Championship finalist and won at advanced level jumper classes, approved stallion Escudo I who was stallion performance test champion, reserve champion in the 1996 German championships, and 2009 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year, and Escudo II who was 2-year-old licensing champion, 4th at his stallion performance test, and part of the Celle State Stud quadrille, and her daughter Dea II competed at grand prix dressage.
Brassy had a filly sired by Capone I in 2013 who is very typey and elastic. She inherited the strong topline provided by her grandsire, Arkansas. In 2018, Brassy produced an exquisite filly, Datz Brass (by Diarado's Boy) who is being retained for our breeding program.
Brassy has been confirmed in foal to the exceptional Grand Prix show jumping stallion, Lasino (Landgraf I/Capitol I/Lord) for a June 2019 foal. Brassy once again proved how fertile she is, and only required 1 cycle using 1 dose of frozen semen to get pregnant.
